Live-in care is an option for people who need extra help, but don’t want to move into a facility. It’s also a good option for people who need help with personal care, such as bathing and feeding, who don’t want to lose their independence.
When you choose a live-in caregiver, they will stay with you in your home. They can help with things like bathing, dressing, and grooming, preparing meals and snacks, light housekeeping, and laundry tasks. They can also provide companionship and emotional support while they take care of basic needs like getting out of bed, eating meals, or doing household chores such as laundry or cooking.
Your live-in caregiver will usually stay overnight every night so they can be there when you wake up in the morning or when you go to bed at night. They may also spend time during the day if needed but some families prefer that their live-in caregiver is present only overnight so that their loved one has time alone during the day.
Our personal care attendants can provide assistance with:
- Medication management and supervision
- Assistance with toileting, bathing, and all other daily personal tasks
- Meal planning and preparation
- Light housekeeping/laundry
- Encouraging exercise, as directed by their healthcare provider
- Help with shopping and errands
- Companionship, including friendly conversation about sports, news, and other interests
